A Message from the Principal

Welcome Back, Eagles!

We are thrilled to welcome everyone back for Quarter 3 and extend a warm greeting to all of our new families joining our Eagle family! This quarter, we will continue to Rise Above and Lead as we grow together as leaders by focusing on three important habits from The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People:

    👂Habit 5: Seek First to Understand, Then to Be Understood

    🤝Habit 6: Synergize

    🪚Habit 7: Sharpen the Saw

These habits help us build strong relationships, work collaboratively, and take care of ourselves so we can be our very best.

We also have many exciting events ahead! In January, we will celebrate Literacy Week and host a fun-filled Literacy Night for our families. In February, we will honor and celebrate Black History Month with meaningful activities and learning experiences.

Thank you for being part of our incredible school community. Let’s make Quarter 3 a time of growth, learning, and joy!

  • Leader in Me

    Leader in Me is a school-wide program that helps students build leadership, responsibility, and life skills. Based on the 7 Habits of Highly Effective People, it encourages every child to discover their strengths and become confident, capable leaders—both in school and beyond.

  • Dual Language

    Our Dual Language program supports academic success while helping students become bilingual and bicultural. Classes are taught in both English and Spanish, allowing students to strengthen their first language while learning a second.

  • Safety and Security

    Each one of our public schools has a full-time sworn law enforcement officer serving as a School Resource Officer on campus every day. Deputy Voight is back this year at East Lake!

  • We Embrace CHOICE

    As a Choice District, we allow parents to select the school they want their children to attend, as long as that school has capacity and program availability.

This year with the implementation of Leader in Me I have been able to learn the 7 habits of a successful student and apply them to my daily life as a student and member of society. Being an Eagle has prepared me to be a true leader. I had the opportunity of being the master of ceremony at the second Black History Celebration here at East Lake. That was a proud moment for me and other members of the Honor Society." -Nazir, Student

"Being in the Dual Language program has equipped me with the skills to be a bilingual student and develop cultural awareness. This helps me build meaningful connections with my peers and community members. Learning two languages boosts my cognitive skills, such as problem-solving and multitasking. The Dual Language program here at East Lake Elementary has helped me to be ready to showcase my abilities and success in a vibrant, globalized society. I plan to continue with my bilingual education as I transition to middle school." -Klaudia, Student

"With support from my teachers and family, I continue to grow and embrace my bilingual abilities. I feel empowered as a leader, and I look forward to serving my community. Being in this program has given me the necessary skills to grow as a bilingual student and prepare for the future. I now have the confidence to help others who are learning English or Spanish, and I’m proud of how far I’ve come in both languages. This program has not only helped me in school, but also taught me the importance of understanding different cultures and perspectives. I love being bilingual and biliterate!" -Martin, Student
