🌟 Soaring Into Quarter 4!

Starting our fourth quarter, we are excited to welcome everyone back from Spring Break and continue our journey of learning and leadership together. This final stretch of the school year gives us a wonderful opportunity to refocus, set clear goals, and finish strong as we continue to Rise Above and Lead each day.

We have several exciting events coming up that showcase our students’ creativity, collaboration, and curiosity:

🌟 Upcoming Events

  • STEM Night – A hands-on evening where students and families can explore, discover, and problem-solve together.
  • Art in the Garden – A beautiful celebration of student artwork and the creativity that blooms across our campus.

📚 State FAST Progress Monitoring 3

In May, we begin FAST Progress Monitoring 3. This final assessment of the year allows students to demonstrate the growth they’ve made. Encouraging good habits—such as rest, organization, and practicing a positive mindset—will help students feel confident and prepared.

🌱 Leader in Me Focus

This quarter, we will revisit all 7 Habits to empower our students to lead themselves and others with purpose:

  • Be Proactive
  • Begin With the End in Mind
  • Put First Things First
  • Think Win‑Win
  • Seek First to Understand, Then to Be Understood
  • Synergize
  • Sharpen the Saw

As leaders, our students will continue practicing these habits each day, showing kindness, responsibility, and perseverance as we move toward the end of the year.

We are proud of everything our students have accomplished so far, and we look forward to a strong, joyful, and successful fourth quarter together. Thank you for your partnership and support as we continue to Soar like Eagles.

"I am a member of the National Honor Society. I am also part of the dance club and the Spring Musical. East Lake has offered me a positive environment where I am able to thrive as a student leader. Being kind to one another makes a huge difference in our school. Here at East Lake, we practice kindness and synergize with one another. I am very happy that my school is a “Leader in Me" school. I am learning the 7 habits of successful students." -Riley, Student

"I am the proud president of the National Honor Society here at East Lake. NHS recognizes students who excel in four key areas: scholarship, leadership, service, and character. It has been an honor serving my school and showcasing my leadership skills. This year with the implementation of Leader in Me I have been able to learn the 7 habits of a successful student and apply them to my daily life as a student and member of society. Being an Eagle has prepared me to be a true leader. I had the opportunity of being the master of ceremony at the second Black History Celebration here at East Lake. That was a proud moment for me and other members of the Honor Society." -Nazir, Student

"Being in the Dual Language program has equipped me with the skills to be a bilingual student and develop cultural awareness. This helps me build meaningful connections with my peers and community members. Learning two languages boosts my cognitive skills, such as problem-solving and multitasking. The Dual Language program here at East Lake Elementary has helped me to be ready to showcase my abilities and success in a vibrant, globalized society. I plan to continue with my bilingual education as I transition to middle school." -Klaudia, Student

"With support from my teachers and family, I continue to grow and embrace my bilingual abilities. I feel empowered as a leader, and I look forward to serving my community. Being in this program has given me the necessary skills to grow as a bilingual student and prepare for the future. I now have the confidence to help others who are learning English or Spanish, and I’m proud of how far I’ve come in both languages. This program has not only helped me in school, but also taught me the importance of understanding different cultures and perspectives. I love being bilingual and biliterate!" -Martin, Student
